Cyber security strategy to be developed [source: theindependentbd]

The government is going to develop a cyber-security strategy in collaboration with international firms NRD CS and Global Cyber Security Capacity Center (GCSCC) of University of Oxford to protect Bangladesh’s cyberspace, reports BSS.

A team of NRD CS and GCSCC arrived in Dhaka on Monday and met officials and stakeholders to discuss Bangladesh’s advancement in digitations and current status of cyber space aimed at developing cyber security strategy, assessment of critical infrastructure protection strategy and creating a cyber-risk assessment framework for Critical Information Infrastructures (CIIs), said a media release today.

During a meeting with Executive Director of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) Parthapratim Deb, director of GCSCC Professor Michael Goldsmith said the Cyber Security Capacity Maturity Model for Nations (CMM) developed by the GCSCC has been deployed more than 60 countries of the world to develop an effective cyber security strategy that has helped mitigate the fast growing cyber threats.
